NaNoWriMo and lack of progress

By LadyGlutter On November 9, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Yes, it’s time for that blog post that everyone in NaNoWriMo makes, but here goes.  Maybe I bit off more than I can chew. I think I’d roughly be meeting my quota if I’d quit throwing my beginnings away.  I’m giving it to the end of this week to get going, and if it doesn’t, […]

The Walk

By LadyGlutter On November 8, 2009 · 2 Comments

The Out of the Darkness Walk was a huge success in terms of turnout and money raised. Personally, I cried my head off. I cry easily anyway, but I felt terrible about it as everyone else seemed to have a smiley face.  Out of all those people, almost all of them were walking because someone […]

Whee!!

I had a great day today.  I went window shopping at the Christmas Village, snuggled on the couch with a kitty, ate really good Chinese food, and generally enjoyed getting out of the house for a bit.  But the unexpected highlight of the day was when I rode on the back of a motorcycle for […]

All I’ve got

By LadyGlutter On November 5, 2009 · 1 Comment

Please do not come up to me, ask if my hair is natural, and then follow me around, trying to touch it.  Just tell me that my hair is pretty, and that will be sufficient to make me smile.  Really.

Also, please do not talk to me or approach me in any way when I’m […]

Out of the Darkness Walk

By LadyGlutter On November 4, 2009 · Leave a Comment

This Sunday, the Birmingham chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) is hosting a walk in Heardmont Park, on 119.  It starts at 3:00.  So far, there are 369 registered participants, but I’ve not even registered yet.  I’m sure there will be more.

There are many purposes for […]

Sweetness

By LadyGlutter On November 3, 2009 · 2 Comments

Today has been one of those two steps behind kind of days.  I’ll just share a conversation I had with Red Chief on the way home to fill today’s quota.

“Mama, today C__ became a Walker.”

A Walker walks home from school, as opposed to someone who is in carpool.

“Oh, really?  Is that important?”

Progress

By LadyGlutter On November 2, 2009 · 2 Comments

Just came off of my workout, and I’m already a minute behind on math class.  I’m pretty happy with how working out is going right now. I just finished my pushups, which totalled 24 in all.  It has been hard to push myself and know I’m making progress; I get so pissed at myself for […]

Sharpening my pencils

By LadyGlutter On November 1, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Back to school has been going pretty decently, but now I’ve decided to kick things up a notch or three.  I keep telling you all I neglect the writing portion.  I suspect that, as usual, that’s because I have something I really want to say and am avoiding the real clarity writing can give.

Earlier this […]
